HOUSE SUPERVISOR (PRN)
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and tasks appropriate to each age group as applicable. Also, directs and guides patient teaching and activities of licensed and non-licensed nursing service personnel while maintaining the standards of practice of professional nursing. Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the District and department legal compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer or District hotline. The House Supervisor is also responsible for supervision and coordination of nursing care activities on a hospital wide level. Seen as an extension of the departmental managers in their absence and is delegated the responsibility to act as nursing administration with the hospital administrative personnel available on-call. This person makes rounds on the patient care units and is available as needed for issues that benefit from management help and or/intervention. The House Supervisor also ensures that there is adequate staff on each unit based on joint collaboration with each patient unit’s leadership designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current registered nurse license in the State of Texas
- BLS, ACLS, PALS required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred
- National certification is preferred
- ICU/ED and Management experience preferred
